BACKGROUND
We are committed to further innovation to make better retrofit more accessible, building on the following pilots:
- Breaking ground towards neighbourhood scale retrofit, stimulated by Community Based Social Marketing.
- Solutions for ‘challenging’ dwelling types including tenements.
- Expanding the contractor base with support for builders and heating engineers.
THE ROLE
This is an opportunity to work at the leading edge of retrofit and clean heat innovation in the UK.
Reporting to the CEO, the innovation programme manager will develop and deliver the cooperative’s portfolio of innovation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a programme of innovation and consultancy projects.
- Secure funding by developing bids and managing relationships with funders, partners and diverse stakeholders.
- Manage our knowledge base.
- Carry out external benchmarking
- Engage with research and public policy.
- Lead our internal process of evaluating and improving triple bottom line sustainability (social, environmental and economic).
- Depending on the skills of the leading candidate, take responsibility for the reliable operation of one or more internal IT systems.

Skills And Experience
Required
- At least two years experience successfully managing complex projects of more than 6 months duration and involving multiple parties.
- Track record in securing project funding from public, private or third sector sources.
- Project Management qualification or equivalent familiarity with PM principles
- Effective team leader, coordinating complex interdisciplinary teams across organisations and locations.
- Effective written and spoken communicator. Effective presenter.
- Demonstrable skills in academic research and writing.
- Aware of domestic retrofit, renewables
- Experience of policy research and engagement
- Confident with Google Sheets or Excel which we use for project planning and budgeting.
- Comfortable with managing IT platforms such as customer relationship management, website, collaboration tools.
- Confident with collaboration tools such as Slack.
Preferred
- Experience with community energy projects.
- Experience working with the construction trades.
- Experience in designing services.
- Line management
Location
- You should be based within a commutable distance of our office in central Glasgow.
- There will be a mixture of office working, events in the community and flexibility to work from home.
- We serve households and communities across Glasgow City Region.
Schedule
- 0.6 to 1.0 FTE.
- This role involves community engagement events in evenings and at weekends.
